They Came! They Sang! They Raised Money for Pediatric Cancer Care!

This past weekend was Homecoming 2023 at Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley. The Stone Doctors, a renowned rock band with roots in Maine and Canada took to the stage at The Rack, a local bar and restaurant. The Stone Doctors played three shows, and all were in front of a packed house.

What makes The Stone Doctors special? This is a great question! The Stone Doctors play the music of the Rolling Stones. That in and of itself makes them a fun band to dance and sing along to. Now add into the mix that the band loves playing shows for causes they believe in and they have found that volunteering their time and talent to help others is very rewarding.

The three shows this weekend supported Northern Light Pediatric Cancer Care, a cause near and dear to Ian Dickey, MD’s heart. Dr. Dickey is an orthopedic surgeon who used to work at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center where he specialized in orthopedic pediatric oncology.

We had so much fun rocking out to the music and we are so grateful for the invaluable support. They’ll take the stage in Sugarloaf again in the spring, but in the meantime, you can continue to support their fundraising efforts by clicking here.
