Mrs. Penobscot County Pays it Forward

At Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, we love when our patients come back to say thank you and pay it forward. Elana Kirby, currently Mrs. Penobscot County, her son Elliott, big sister Autumn, came by to drop off a generous donation of toys and gift cards for our pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Elliott was diagnosed with retinoblastoma when he was just two years old. Now, after their own journey through treatment and recovery, the Kirby family wanted to give back and bring smiles to kids’ faces. They reached out to their friends and family to host a fundraiser. With the funds raised, the Kirby family were able to purchase close to 250 toys, coloring books, gift cards and so much more!

We are incredibly grateful to Elana, Elliott, and Autumn for their kindness and generosity. Their efforts will provide joy and comfort to our young patients.
