Cheers to Marriott

Many people don’t realize that Marriott didn’t start as a hotel. J.W. Marriott and his wife, Alice, opened their first business, a root beer float stand, in Washington, DC in the 1920s to help quench tourists thirsts. It wasn’t until 1957 that the Marriott family would open their first hotel. Many people also don’t know that Marriott is proud to be Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ longest standing corporate partner, and as the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program for northern Maine, we’re so very thankful for Marriott’s support, especially the Courtyard by Marriott Bangor and the Marriott TownePlace Suites Bangor.

The Courtyard by Marriott Bangor and the Marriott TownePlace Suites Bangor are helping us celebrate 35 years of miracles this week. Join us Monday and Tuesday, August 6 and 7, at the Courtyard by Marriott from 4 – 6 pm for Root Beer Floats, and then on Wednesday and Thursday, August 8 and 9, at the Marriott TownePlace Suites. Some special kids who know all too well just how important local donations are will be on hand to help serve up the tasty treat!
