It All Started With A Girl From Orange, Texas

It’s hard to believe that the Extra Life movement is now more than ten years old. It’s still gaining momentum, and to date, gamers around the world have raised more than $70 million – yes, $70 million – for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Even more incredible is the story behind the movement.

Extra Life began in 2008 as a way to honor Victoria Enmon, a young lady from Orange, Texas. Tori bravely battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and her courageous fight inspired the Sarcastic Gamer Community to send video games and other gifts her way to keep her spirits up during her fight.

Tori lost her battle with cancer on January 21, 2008, and today, her spirit, her energy, and her contagious smile live on through Extra Life, a gaming marathon that raises money for local children’s hospitals.

On the twelve year anniversary of her death, Tori and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. She is forever in our hearts when we share stories about this incredible movement that sparked a new audience of donors – one that fuels a passion for gaming and for helping kids.
